Astragalus (Huang Qi) has been used in China for over 2,000 years. It has been traditionally used to boost the immune system, relieve physical fatigue, and reduce excessive sweating.
It is wild northern astragalus, primarily wild-grown on Mount Heng in Shanxi, China. Mount Heng’s high altitude, cool weather, large day-night temperature swings, and porous sandy soil, combined with years of growth, make its astragaloside IV level much higher than regular astragalus. Historically, it was reserved for royalty only.
